Pochet du Courval’s recycled glass
SEVA glass, Vision d’Avenir’s Eco-designed Solution, has the unique feature of preserving the aesthetical and technical qualities of Pochet du Courval’s signature glass while incorporating recycled glass.
SEVA 1: the first closed-loop recycled glass
SEVA 1 glass contains 14% recycled glass, the first closed-loop circuit in the beauty industry. In 2020, the Group launched and produced glass continuously on a SEVA 1 furnace. This production enabled reducing the impact of our glass over a year: ‘ _by saving 2,400 tons of raw material ‘ – by preventing the direct emission of 1,200 tons of CO2.
SEVA 3: recycled glass from household collections
As pioneers of the circular economy, we decided to offer our clients recycled glass derived from household collections, without compromising on its quality, shade, or ability to produce the complex shapes of Pochet du Courval glass. SEVA 3 Glass contains 15% recycled glass obtained from household collections. This promise to combine luxury with an improved environmental impact was achieved by working with a single sorting partner to ensure the highest quality post-consumer recycled glass and a sustainable supply. SEVA 3 glass came online in April 2021 thanks to the commitments of Pochet du Courval’s teams, and culminated in the launch of Chanel no. 5 in recycled glass in late summer 2021.
